the newest hotel in dw.  It's walking distance from the town.  One of the other nice/new place is farther away- they offer a shuttle, but it's not the same. I've only stayed 2 different places. one was the wild bill suite.  which was NOT very sweet.  hehe.. motel.  and the Lodge at Deadwood which is sweet.  but it's the one with the shuttle.

There's also a bunch of cool hotels/motels/cabins in Keystone, custer, hot springs, etc.  They are fairly dated.  I'll look- they might have been building a new one in Custer, which is a cute little town. 

I was looking at menus to make sure you can find vegetarian options- seems ok but mostly based on meaty meat.  

I personally thing locating in Deadwood and driving would be fine.  There's some beautiful drives
